Experience
To realise our projects Burum builds on skills, experience and relationships. In terms of qualifications I have a first degree in Economics and Geography and higher degrees in Town and Country Planning and Business Administration. I am a member of the RTPI and a Chartered Town Planner since 1982.
This is helped by many years experience of working with all sorts of sectors – from working on my own to being an employee in large organisations - in the private and “third” sectors as well as the public sector. I have also served in official capacities with a number of voluntary and charity organisations.
Often however such skills and experience on their own are not enough – I will need the backup of a successful team or specialist adviser. And over the years I have led, and worked alongside, a number of other specialists.
However in my view equally as important is an ability to get on with people like you, to listen and understand your needs and aspirations; the ability then to use those skills and experience to analyse and understand the context and situation you are in and then to work with you, and whoever else is needed, to form a plan of action on the way forward.
